Simon Kerle - Founder of Raw Power Yoga

From Professional Basketball to Raw Power Yoga

For more than three decades, Simon Kerle has pursued one question: what separates good performers from elite performers?

At 18, Simon moved to the United States on a basketball scholarship before returning to Australia and launching an 18-year professional career across the NBL and Italy. He recorded a career-high 49 points, and in 1995 set an NBL record that still stands today ,scoring 16 points in a five-minute overtime period.

In 2001, Simon was named Brisbane Bullets Captain and averaged 24.9 points per game, finishing second in the NBL scoring race behind Andrew Gaze and earning international recognition in SLAM Magazine.

His career was later interrupted by three major ankle surgeries and 15 months away from professional basketball. At 35, Simon returned for one final NBL season with the Brisbane Bullets, averaging 13.5 points per game and helping the team reach the Semi Finals.

That relentless pursuit of performance shaped everything that followed.

In 2012 Simon started yoga in 2013 he did his teacher training course and in 2014, Simon founded Raw Power Yoga, recognised as Brisbane’s Number One Yoga Studio, creating an environment where every class is designed for beginners through to advanced practitioners, so everyone can feel welcomed, supported and confident from day one. He also developed Queensland’s leading yoga teacher training programs.

Simon also founded Yoga Bears Kids Yoga, delivering play-based yoga, movement, breathing and mindfulness programs to over 100 childcare and early learning centres across Australia.

His performance work has included the Brisbane Lions, Brisbane Broncos, Queensland Firebirds, Australian Defence Force, Brisbane Bullets , AFL Players ,English Cricket Team, English Swimming Team, Olympians and elite professional athletes.

After becoming an Advanced Oxygen Advantage® Instructor, Simon identified one of the most overlooked systems in performance: the breathing system.

That discovery led to the creation of VINCERE Protocol, combining elite sporting experience with advanced breathing science to help athletes perform, recover and maintain control under pressure.
